After two years National Service he studied at Rhodes University completing his BCom LLB in 1988 before spending a working holiday travelling Europe. He joined Bate Chubb & Dickson Inc. in October 1990 and specialises in all aspects of property law, conveyancing, estate planning, trusts, commercial contracts and pre-nuptial contracts. Angus is married to Hiki, a teacher and has two children, Vaughan and Abigail. A keen roadrunner, a highlight for him was his completion of the Comrades Marathon in 2000. He has recently taken up paddling and completed the Breede River Marathon and the Fish River Canoe Marathon.
