He matriculated at Hudson Park High School in 1983 and then studied at Rhodes University where he obtained a BA degree in 1986 and an LLB in 1988. Ashley joined Bate Chubb & Dickson Inc. in 1991 and was admitted as an attorney in 1993 and as a conveyancer in 1994. He practises in all aspects of corporate and commercial, litigation and family and personal injury law, concentrating mainly in the High Court. Ashley is married to Stef. They have 3 children Jenna, Adam and Ana. He is a keen golfer. He is Past Chairman of Nahoon Round Table 160. At present he is on the Governing Body of Hudson Park Primary School.
